Want to give us some money?

Rising Tide Newcastle is a grassroots, unstructured, and totally volunteer run group, and we don't have a team of canvassers on the streets gleaning money from passers by!

All our expenses are funded by donations, with the gap covered by the members of the group personally.

If you can afford to send some money our way, we are very grateful, and we can promise that every dollar will go a long way in the campaign against the expanding Australian coal industry, and other causes of climate change. Here are some examples of where your money might go:

  • Producing documents, fliers, stickers, t-shirts, badges, posters, banners, and other campaign materials intended to raise awareness of and opposition to the expansion of Hunter coal exports (and other causes of climate change), and empower people to take action.

  • Putting on events and demonstrations to do the same.

  • Undertaking Non-Violent Direct Action against the coal industry and those who would facilitate its expansion. Costs associated with this include court-imposed fines and reimbursements.

Ways to donate:

  • Put it straight into our account:
Institution - Newcastle Permanent Building Society
    BSB - 650 300
Account name - Rising Tide Newcastle
    Account number - 972835707
SWIFT code (for international transfers) - wpacau2s (US) or asllau2c (other nations)

  • Send a cheque made out to Rising Tide Newcastle to the following address:
    PO Box 290
    Newcastle 2300
If you transfer the money electronically, you should send us an email to let us know you've done it.

Please note that donations are NOT tax deductable.

Thanks!

Sorry for a dumb question,

Sorry for a dumb question, but I really can't get, what NOT is?...

That is, donations are not

That is, donations are not tax deductable, -- not able to be used as a tax deduction -- with capitalisation for emphasis.
