Greenhouse Mafia visits Greg Combet
On Friday, May 8, representatives from the world's coal corporations went to Cardiff to see Greg Combet, the government's Secretary for Climate Change. They were lobbying for free pollution permits, just three days after the government had given them a lot more.
We went along to expose that the coal industry had their black fingerprints all over the Government's pollution trading scheme.
The free permits are just one flaw in a scheme which is incapable of reducing carbon emissions, let alone being part of a global plan to avoid runaway climate change, the biggest threat that humanity faces.

ICCT Sydney 2004
The International Climate Change Taskforce met in Sydney in late 2004. While the objectives of the ICCT are laudible, environmentalists decided to hold a protest out the front anyway. Why? Because Bob Carr, then Premier of NSW, was talking up his green credentials as usual, waxing lyrically about the need to address climate change, while at the same time making plans to build new coal-fired power stations in NSW.
