GLOUCESTER COAL & GAS RALLY

Rivers SOS is comprised of over 44 groups around NSW campaigning to protect river systems from mine damage.

We are organising a Rally in the Gloucester area on Wednesday 10th February at 10.00 a.m. - Corner of Jacks Road and The Bucketts Way Gloucester.

This Rally is to alert the community about the expansion of coal and gas mining in our valley and pipeline to Hexham. Will mining ventures in the Gloucester-Stroud valley to Hexham damage waterways, private homes and properties?

AGL gas now has core drills on the river flats and flood plains of the Gloucester River and is seeking Government approval to discharge saline water via local creeks and/or rivers, which we believe will impact on the River systems to Taree and the Karuah catchment area to Port Stephens.

Coal and gas extraction is expanding everywhere in the State at an unprecedented rate, causing we believe permanent damage to our water resources and our environment.

Rivers SOS calls on the NSW Government to protect our environment from escalating damage. Thereby protecting all river systems and only approving responsible mine plans.
