Pasha Bulker Beyond CoalJune 2007 - climate chaos grounds a coal ship at Nobby's Beach in the world's biggest coal port - Newcastle. In November 2006, one thousand Novacastrians braved only slightly tamer weather at the very same beach to spell out "Beyond Coal" with their bodies, as part of an international day of action against climate change. Coal exports from Newcastle are Australia's single biggest contribution to climate chaos. As such, it was hard to resist compiling the two images. So we didn't. (Resist, that is).
