the government on the final day of Parliament for 2024.

Why act?

Fossil fuels, like coal and gas, are the greatest drivers of this crisis. Yet, since coming to power, the Albanese Government has approved more than 13 fossil fuel projects and 117 are in the pipeline.

The science is clear: we cannot have new fossil fuel projects and ensure a safe future on this planet. We need land rights for First Nations, a plan for workers, and to break the fossil fuel CEO’s hold over our democracy.

Join us to make history!

Occupying the Parliament lawns will put political pressure on the government by attracting significant media attention, and symbolically challenging the authority of lawmakers.

This high-visibility action can put pressure on the government to address the Australian public demands for climate action directly, increase public support and solidarity, and create a sense of urgency around the issues being raised.

Most importantly, we are doing this in mass numbers, with a colourful diverse crowd. This sends a clear message to politicians; the people will not continue to put up with governments incapable of taking climate action.
